My plan for our local area includes making sure our streets are safe. The government has recruited an additional 295 officers in Surrey since 2019. That means we have more local police than ever before, but there is still more to do.
This is why it is fantastic news that as part of the government's Safer Streets Fund, Walton has been given an extra £330,000 to tackle anti-social behaviour.
This new funding includes new security measures in the Drewitts Court Car Park in Walton town centre, including new speed bumps, anti-climb paint and motion sensor lighting.
It will also be used to help tackle everything from drug dealing to vandalism and littering, as well as to make improvements in the community garden in the St John’s Estate.
Thank you to Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner, Lisa Townsend, for ensuring Walton got the funding it needs to help make our streets safer.
