To mark Parliament Week, it was fun to join 1st Weston Green Brownies to make poppies ahead of Remembrance Sunday and for a Q&A to answer their questions about Parliament.
It was great to see how interested the Brownies are about the world around them and how Parliament works – the most popular suggestions for new laws were no pineapple on pizzas and no homework for children!
UK Parliament Week is an annual event helping to spread the word about what Parliament is, what is does and how more people can get involved. It is a great way to encourage young people to find out more about how democracy works both locally and on the national level in Westminster.
Thank you to everyone at 1st Weston Green Brownies for inviting me down to mark Parliament Week with you.
